Atlas Khan Urges Pakistan Federation To Reconsider Ban,
Blames PSF Secretary, Who Is Himself Now Banned

- Aamir Atlas Khan, Pakistan’s top player, has urged the country’s squash authorities to reconsider a two-year ban imposed on him for ‘deliberately under-performing’ in the 2011 World Team Championship.

Aamir believes that the ban was imposed on him on the basis of a report filed by Irfan Asghar, adding that the PSF secretary has lost “all credibility” after being banned for one year by the World Squash Federation (WSF).

“Irfan Asghar is a liar and that has been proved by the WSF action against him,” Aamir told ‘The News’ on Friday.

“He had made allegations against the WSF in the Belgian visa case, which have been proved wrong. He also made false allegations against me and other Pakistan players and I believe that the PSF should reconsider the ban imposed on us,” he said.

Aamir was banned for two years, Yasir Butt received a one-year penalty while Waqar Mehboob was banned for six months after the PSF found them guilty of throwing matches at the World Team Championship where Pakistan finished at the 22nd place.

“I’m Pakistan’s top player and have won a lot of laurels for my country. I can still serve Pakistan,” added Aamir.
