Fall Hardball Update
from Preston Quick

October 15, 2012 - Last season saw a further expansion of interest in Hardball Singles play from new as well as long dormant hardballers, the hardball doubles communities and PSA professionals.

We saw increased participation on the traditional 18.5 foot wide hardball courts, especially at the U.S. SQUASH Hardball National Championships in NYC, with a large Open Draw won by Preston Quick, our US Squash Hardball representative over a field of impressive PSA and ISDA professionals, fueled by the prize money we offered from the Hardball Singles Squash Restricted fund.

There was also increased experimentation and hardball singles play on the wider, 21 foot "international" courts, with the green, Austral ball.

Anyone wanting/needing an Austral ball to play or experiment with can get one by contacting Tefft Smith at 202 879 5212 or tsmith@kirkland.com.

Thank you for your support of Hardball Singles and U.S. SQUASH.
