To U.S. Squash: What's Your Problem?
by Ted Gross, publisher DailySquashReport.com

October 23, 2012 - Why the United States Squash Association decided to participate so minimally, so microscopically, in World Squash Day is a question that should be answered.

It should be answered by the CEO of US Squash and by the Chairman of its Board of Directors.

On a record-setting day when over 800 clubs and 40,000 players came together from around the world in support of squash's 2020 Olympic bid, where was US Squash?

Where was their schedule of events, where were the mass e-mails to the membership, what did they do to get their club pros to organize anything?

On October 15th, five days before World Squash Day, an event that dozens of volunteers had been working on for a year, US Squash posted the following:

If US Squash did anything else to promote World Squash Day during the last twelve months, I'd love to hear about it.

As a reader pointed out: "It seems like the most obvious and easy thing to get behind."

If I were a parent of an American junior player with potential Olympic aspirations, I'd be highly concerned that US Squash may not care or, worse, may have its own, private agenda.

And if squash misses the cut at the upcoming IOC vote, I'd be calling for heads -- and answers.
