October 28, 2011 - The top-seeded team of Greg McArthur and Dan Roberts straight-setted Ethan Oetter and Iago Cornes last night to advance to this afternoon’s qualifying finals in the $20k St. Louis Open at the Racquet Club of St. Louis.
The event is the first full-ranking tournament on the 2011-12 ISDA Tour. Top seeds in the main draw are powerhouses Damien Mudge and Ben Gould, followed by Matt Jenson and Clive Leach.
As luck would have it, back at the tournament hotel last night following the first round of qualifying, six of today’s qualifying finalists were trapped in an elevator between floors.
The St. Louis Fire Department was called to the scene.
