Two Thoughts On The ESPN US Open Live Streaming by Ted Gross for DailySquashReport.com
October 6, 2011-
Last night’s live streaming of the US Open semis on ESPN3 was
great visually - the matches came through in crystal-clear definition,
and the level of professional camera work and production was evident.
Two suggestions:
Start the matches later. It
appeared the arena was mostly empty for the first women’s semi, Brown
versus Perry, at 5:00pm local time. Start the whole shebang no earlier
than 7:00.
Caution the announcers not to talk during the points.
We got treated to a rare chance to watch a live event on a major
network, yet the drama of the moment was often overpowered by the
incessant, almost compulsive chatter of both the play-by-play announcer
and the color man while the ball was in play.
