- Last season saw a resurgence of interest in Hardball Singles play
from new as well as long dormant hardballers, the hardball doubles
communities and PSA professionals.
We saw increased participation on the traditional 18.5 foot wide
hardball courts, especially at the US Squash Hardball National
Championships in Boston.
There was also much increased play and experimentation of hardball
singles play on the wider, 21 foot “international” courts,
with the green, Austral ball, including avid interest from the ISDA
hardball doubles community.
To further encourage hardball singles play, the US Squash Hardball
Singles Committee provided cash prizes from the Hardball Singles Squash
Restricted (to Hardball) Fund, for both the Open US Squash Singles
National Championship, and for a Pro tournament in April in conjunction
with an ISDA Doubles tournament.
We want to build upon last season’s momentum to see further expansion of hardball singles play, BUT we need your help!!!!
To further fund the National Championships and support ISDA and other
professional tournaments, we need to replenish the US Hardball Singles
Restricted Fund.
PLEASE make a – tax deductible, charitable – contribution
to US Squash, RESTRICTED to the Hardball Singles Fund, using the
following form or, however, works BEST for you.
Tefft Smith and David Slosburg have each committed $5,000 for the
2011-12 Season, provided that at least that much money is raised from
the rest of the Hardball Singles Community.
In addition to recognition on the US Squash website’s Hardball
Singles page, every financial supporter will be sent an Austral ball
for use on the wide courts and general experimentation.
Gifts to the U.S. SQUASH Hardball Singles Restricted Fund are 100%
tax-deductible and directly benefit the encouragement and support of
hardball singles squash play.
