- US number two Christopher Gordon of Connecticut suffered a difficult exit yesterday in the $145,000 Hong Kong Open, losing in the first round of the qualifying in four games to 112th-ranked Harinder Sandhu of India.

Gordon, world-ranked 36 places higher at #76, lost the first two games to the 22-year-old Sandhu. He then pulled out the third in overtime but was unable to sustain the play and was shut down in the fourth.

The final tally for Sandhu was 13-11 11-8 10-12 and 11-7.

Chris was the only North American competing in the qualifying draw of $145,000 Hong Kong Open, considered one of the PSA Tour's elite events. US number one Julian Illingworth will face 5th seeded Greg Gaultier of France in a first round main draw match on Tuesday.

On the women’s side, Seattle’s Latasha Khan is also in the main draw and will face third-seeded Rachael Grinham of Australia tomorrow in first-round WISPA action.
