Here's a report on team Canada!
Our first match was vs Australia, and we gave a good fight, each taking the first games of our respective matches, Sam vs Rachel, Alex vs Donna, and Susie vs Melody. Unfortunately this tournament is set up that we have to win 3 out of 5 in each match... :)
But we figured it out in the next one! Yesterday we played Austria and took it to them, finishing each match 3-0. Felt great to get our first team win, building confidence for the next round vs New Zealand.
Although it was a nailbiter, I have to report a loss for the match today in the round of 16. We put up a great fight though.
Susie went on and played great, and won in 5, 14-12 in the fifth or something, it was brilliant.
I went on and played great as well, taking the first against Joelle, but ended up losing in 4, didn't play quite so great in the next 3 and she stepped it up.
Then it was down to Alex, and she played unreal, but lost in a really, really close 3. We were cheering our hearts out! Couple grey hairs...
So a good effort overall, but not quite enough to take it! Good luck New Zealand!
Now we play Czech Republic at 4:30 pm tomorrow afternoon, Nimes
time. Should be a good one!
