David Palmer Advances In Debut PST Event

- Four-time British Open winner David Palmer of Australia got past tough fellow-Aussie Mick Joint last night in Cleveland to claim his first match win on the Pro Squash Tour (PST).

Palmer advances to today’s PST Cleveland Classic semi-finals at the Cleveland Skating Club in Ohio.

Joint, playing out of Detroit and the publisher of the popular “Squash Joint” blog, pushed Palmer to an overtime opening game before being closed out in three.

Also advancing was second seeded Bradley Ball of England, along with John Rooney of Ireland and Mohamed El Sherbini of Egypt.

Today’s semifinal action is scheduled for 11:30 am, with the championship match to follow at 5:00.

Mohamed El Sherbini (Egypt) beat Adrian Leanza (USA) 11-6, 12-10, 18-16
John Rooney (Ireland) beat Ian Sly (Canada) 11-3, 11-2, 9-11, 11-3

Bradley Ball (England) beat Drewe Williams (England) 12-10, 11-5, 11-9
