PST Signs Greek National Champion
from Tour Media

November 23, 2011
- (Framingham, MA) Pro Squash Tour announced today the signing of Greek National Champion Fabian Kalaitzis. Kalaitzis is the most accomplished squash player in the history of Greece. Next month, he will compete to extend his own record and win his 12th consecutive Greek National Championship.

“I am looking forward to playing on PST," said Kalaitzis. "I have several friends on the tour and look forward to the competition.”  Kalaitzis will make his PST debut in January at the Phoenix Open hosted by Foley Squash.

"It is a great honor for me to welcome Fabian to the Tour," said PST Commissioner Joe McManus.  "He is the most accomplished player in the history of Greece. PST fans are going to love watching this man in action."

PST has been recruiting world class talent, like Kalaitzis, throughout this year. Other 2011 signings include:

John Rooney (Irish National Champion)

Andres Vargas (Colombian National Team)

David Palmer (Australian National Team)

Ricky Weisskopf (4-time El Salvadoran National Champion)

Gustav Detter (Swedish National Champion)

Mohamed El Sherbini (Former Egyptian Junior Champion)

"The most exciting part of Fabian joining our tour is that he is joining at the recommendation of our players," said McManus. "Pro Squash Tour's priority is to entertain our fans. One way we do this is by recruiting world-class athletes and treating them well.

"Fabian called me and told me that Wael El Hindi recommended he start playing PST. He then talked to David Palmer at the World's, then John Rooney, and decided it was the right fit."

"I believe PST is the world's most exciting squash tour. Fabian makes us that much more compelling and entertaining," McManus concluded.
