Marwan Makes It Three In Edmonton by Howard Harding

- Two-time world junior champion Marwan Elshorbagy collected the third
PSA World Tour title of his career at the ReidBuilt Homes Edmonton Open
in Canada when he beat Karim Ali Fathi in the all-Egyptian final of the
PSA Challenger 15 squash event at the Royal Glenora Club in Edmonton.
"Just won my third PSA
title here in Edmonton, very happy with the way I played the whole
week!" tweeted the 20-year-old from Alexandria after his 11-5, 13-11,
8-11, 11-5 victory in 69 minutes. "Now waiting for my flight to Hong
Kong."
Both players prevailed
in four-game semi-finals - top seed Elshorbagy needing 57 minutes to
overcome third-seeded New Zealander Martin Knight and second seed Ali
Fathi, also 20, from Cairo, ending unseeded Pakistani Farhan Zaman's
run.
Elshorbagy joins his
older brother Mohamed Elshorbagy, the new World No.4, in the first
round of the Cathay Pacific Sun Hung Kai Financial Hong Kong Open, the
final PSA World Series event of the year which gets underway tomorrow
(Tuesday).
