Trinity Women Return To Action With Impressive Win Over Big Red

Hartford, Conn. , January 13, 2012
- First-year Natalie Banjukova (Prague, Czech Republic) dominated the No. 5 match, allowing just 13 points in an 11-5, 11-4, 11-4 victory, to lead the Trinity College Bantams to an 8-1 win over the visiting Cornell University Big Red in women's squash action this evening at Kellner Squash Center. Trinity, ranked No. 5 in the nation, improves to 7-0, while No. 7-ranked Cornell drops to 5-2 with its first loss in seven matches. Trinity had not played a match since December 10 and the Big Red had been off since December 3.

Trinity sophomore Wee Nee Low (Penang, Malaysia), rookie Ashley Tidman (Lamor-Plage, France), and senior Pamela Jimenez (Puerto Vallarta, Mexico) also won by 3-0 scores. The Bantams take on No. 6-ranked Stanford, which had beaten Cornell, 8-1, in November, tomorrow at Yale at 3 p.m.
