We were very lucky to have some of the best women squash players from all over the world this weekend.
The Professional women players came from Japan, Canada, Egypt, England, France,Mexico,Pakistan and USA.
The unseeded and qualifier from Pakistan, Maria Toor Pakay proved to strong for all.
On the way to the final Maria beat number one seed from Japan, Misaki
Kobayashi 11-5,16-14,11-7. This the first major upset in the quarter
finals.
In the semi final Maria came up against American Olivia Blatchford.
Maria's fast pace and good shotmaking once again proved too strong and
won the semi final 11-6,11-7,11-3.
The final today saw Canadian Miranda Ranieri, the number two seed play
her heart out however Maria clearly was on a mission to win her first
Liberty Bell Open.
The fact that Maria had to qualify to play in the tournament was equally impressive. Maria won in three games 11-3,11-8,11-7.
