Qualifiers Rule The day In NAO Opening Round

January 20, 2012 - After coming through qualifying the teams of Bernardo Samper and Mark Price and Steve Scharff and Phil Barker both pulled off first round upsets of their main draw opponents.
Samper had the hot hand in the opening match of the night as he and Price were too much for the 5th seeds John Russell and Greg Park.
In the second match Round Hill Pros, Steve Scharff and Greg McArthur, along with their respective partners Phil Barker (GCC head professional) and Dan Roberts went head to head in a battle for local supremacy.
Scharff and Barker proved to be too tough on this particular night as they were victorious in three games.
The last two matches went fairly straight forward as the higher seeds each prevailed.
