Meguid Makes PSA Finnish Quarters by Howard Harding

Egypt's Omar Abdel Meguid caused the biggest upset on the opening day's
play in the Savcor Finnish Open when he ousted second-seeded South
African Stephen Coppinger in an 80-minute marathon in the PSA World
Tour Challenger 15 squash event at Raviradantie in Mikkeli.
The 23-year-old from Giza battled from two games down to topple world No25 Coppinger 9-11, 12-14, 11-7, 11-8, 11-9.
The South African led 6-4 and 9-6 in the decider, but Meguid took five points in row to claim a place in the quarter finals.
Olli Tuominen led home interest with distinction - but the top seed
from Helsinki dropped the first game before beating Czech champion Jan
Koukal 8-11, 12-10, 12-10, 11-6.
The 32-year-old former world No13 wlll be joined in the last eight by
Finnish number two Henrik Mustonen. The No4 seed was taken the full
distance by Andrew Wagih Shoukry before overcoming the Egyptian 7-11,
11-7, 11-7, 12-14, 11-4 in 67 minutes.
