February 20, 2016 - Princeton, N.J. - Senior Rachel Leizman (Pepper Pike, Ohio) broke a 4-4 tie with a 3-1 win in the No. 3 spot in the lineup to lead the Princeton University Tigers to a 5-4 victory over the visiting Trinity College Bantams in women's squash action this afternoon.  Trinity, ranked No. 4 in the nation, closes the regular season with a 11-4 record, while the No. 3-ranked Tigers end the regular campaign with six straight wins and an 11-2 mark in dual matches.  Both teams will compete in the College Squash Association (CSA) National Team Championships (Howe Cup) next weekend at Yale.

The match was played in two waves, evens playing first, and the teams split, 2-2.  Trinity junior Anna Kimberley (Colchester, England) and first-year Jenny Haley (Caldicot, Wales) both recovered from losses in their respective first games to pull out 3-1 victories.  Bantam sophomores Raneem Sharaf (Giza, Egypt) and Karolina Holinkova (Krnov, Czech Republic) took the first game in the No. 8 and No. 2 matches, respectively, but Tiger senior Tara Harrington (Philadelphia, Pa.) won, 3-1, against Holinkova and junior Maria Elena Ubina (Stamford, Conn.) edged Sharaf, 3-2, in the No. 2 position.  Sharaf tied it 2-all with an 11-1 victory in the fourth game, but Ubina rallied to take the fifth game, 11-5.

Trinity senior co-captain Kanzy El Defrawy (Cairo, Egypt) and sophomore Salma El Defrawy (Cairo, Egypt) gave the visitors two more points, as the sisters swept the No. 1 and No. 5 matches, respectively, but the Tigers won at No. 7 and 9 to tie the match at 4-4.  In the No. 3 match, Bantam sophomore Julia LeCoq (Creteil, France) won the opening game, 13-11, but Leizman battled back for wins of 11-3 and 11-9.
