February 26, 2012
- Adrian Leanza (USA) will face Lyall Paterson (Scotland) for the Scozzie Open Championship at Fairmount Athletic Club today at 3:00 pm eastern. Scozzie Squash, America's largest junior training academy, is hosting this weekend's tournament.

Leanza advanced to the finals by winning a cleanly played four game match against fellow American Ned Marks. The opening frame saw Marks win comfortably 11-3. Marks was quicker to the ball and Leanza did not look comfortable. Game 2, however, saw a very different Leanza take the court as he turned the tide on Marks, winning game two 11-3.

Games three and four both went to Leanza 11-9, 11-9. Both games featured the players running to all corners. Leanza and Marks both are patient runners. Marks' nickname among players is "wheels" and Leanza is regarded as the fittest player on PST.

The Paterson / Raubenheimer match was a long, hard fought match between two clever players. Raubenheimer won games one and two by a score of 12-10 and was leading game three 11-10. Paterson aggressively returned a serve to his backhand with a cross court nick that rolled. It was a very aggressive shot that signalled Paterson's more assertive style of play to come.

Raubenheimer and Paterson are both are attacking players. They are explosively quick and look for winning shot opportunities. For the first two game and 10 points, Raubenheimer was the better at a similar style. But Paterson decided to be patient. He worked hard to take the ball early, but just kept putting it deep to the corners. It worked. He won the last two frames 11-8, 11-5 and advanced to the finals
