February 26, 2012
- Lyall Paterson (Scotland) beat Adrian Leanza (United States) 10-12, 12-10, 11-6, 11-8 to win the Scozzie Open at Fairmount Athletic Club. Scozzie Squash, America's largest squash academy, hosted the weekend tournament.

Games one and two were closely fought with Leanza spending most of the time retrieving Paterson's shots. The Scotsman is a showy player who enjoys delighting the crwod with trickle and skid boasts. Leanza is regarded as the fittest player on PST and seemed content to wait for Patterson errors.

However, games three and four saw Paterson pick up the tempo of play. Leanza's more defensive and safe shot choices inevitably gamv Paterson opportunities for winners. And he was increasingly slotting them away. In game four Paterson jumped out to a 7-0 lead and cruised to an 11-8 victory.

Paterson and Leanza are both pros in residence at Fairmount Athletic Club and Scozzie Squash Academy, which is run by Scotsman Paul Frank. The academy has grown quickly over the past two years and now lists over 90 juniors training within the enourmous Fairmout club.

In the 3rd place match South Africa's TG Raubenheimer fought back from a 2-1 deficit to beat American Ned Marks. Game scores were 11-6, 5-11, 8-11, 11-6, 11-5.

Next up on the Pro Squash Tour calendar is the Buffalo Wild Wings Open in Westchester County, New York.

The event is expected to mark the 2012 PST debut of Egyptian Wael El Hindi.
