Trinity Women Beat Princeton To Finish Third by David Kingsley

Senior co-captain Alicia Rodriguez (San Luis Potosi, Mexico) breezed
through the No. 2 match with an 11-5, 11-8, 11-8 victory to lead the
Trinity College Bantams to a 7-2 win over the Princeton University
Tigers in the College Squash Association (CSA) National Championship
(Howe Cup) Third Place Match this afternoon at Harvard University’s
Brady Courts.
Trinity, ranked No. 5 in the nation and seeded No. 5 in the tournament,
closes the year with a College-record 17-4 record and avenges an 8-1
setback against Princeton in New Jersey 15 days ago. The Tigers
finish the year at 11-5.
Trinity won all three matches in the first wave, and had clinched the
match by the end of the second wave. Junior Robyn Hodgson
(Aberdeen, Scotland) and sophomore Jennifer Pelletier (Richmond Hill,
Ontario) also posted 3-0 wins for the Bantams.
Trinity Head Coach Wendy Bartlett (28th Season) increases her career record to 299-88 (.773).
