Tom Rumpler, Debbie Hodes Among 15 Age-Group Titlists At 2012 US Masters

- 1980's WPSA performer Tom Rumpler and one-time Fifth Avenue Racquet Club legend Debbie Hodes were among 15 national age-group champions this past weekend at the 2012 US Masters in Boston.

Rumpler, of Kennesaw, Georgia, ground out a four-game title match over Don Sheer of Sedona, Arizona, in the Men's 60's.

Hodes got past long-time rival and Westport, Connecticut, neighbor Jane Segall in a three game final to capture the Women's 55's.

In other action:

Men's

- It was New Hampshire's Daniel Sharplin over Mike Semprucci of Massachusetts in three to capture the Men's 35's.

- Francis Odeh of New Jersey won the Men's 40's 11-7 in the fifth over Jahangir Naseem of Maryland.

- Steve Wren of Canada beat Sean Ryan of Oregon in four games to win the Men's 45's.

- It was Dominic Hughes of Berwyn, PA, coming through a deep Men's 50's field to beat New Hamphire's Mark Reed in three for the title.

- In the Men's 55's, it was Ontario's Michael Bertin over Atlanta's David Perry in four.

- In the Men's 65's, Gerry Poulton of British Columbia beat Connecticut's Ned Monaghan in a straight-game final.

- In the Men's 70's, age-group legend Jay Nelson of New York prevailed over Michael Keating of Boston in three.

- In the eight-man 75's draw, Connecticut's Alastair Gowan beat Florida's Paul Segal in a four game final.

- And in the eight-man Men's 80's draw, it was Philip Leis of Providence over Doug Allen of Ontario, 11-8 in the fourth.

Women's

- In the Women's 35's round-robin format, it was Peta Murphy defeating Hope Nichols Prockop for the title.

- The Women's 40's saw Brooklyn's Juliana Lilien upend Seattle's Shabana Khan in a three game final.

- In the Women's 45's, it was Louise Lefebvre of Montreal coming through in straight sets against Wendy Ansdell of Massachusetts.

- And in the Women's 50's, Beth Ann Fedorowich of Pittsburgh bested Kathryn Cowper of Ontario in a three game final.
