Sobhy Dominant En Route To Maryland Open Pro Final from DailySquashReport.com March 17, 2012-
World # 26 Amanda Sobhy continued her recent dominant play this week,
blasting her way into today's championship match at the $10,000 WSA
National Capitol Open in Chevy Chase, Maryland.
In her first two rounds, Sobhy beat Jacqueline Barnes of Australia and
Amanda Landers-Murphy of New Zealand in 17 and 18 minutes respectively. Landers-Murphy
was a first-round five-game winner over American Olivia Blatchford.
In her semifinal, Sobhy, the current collegiate national champion, was extended to 25 minutes and an overtime
third game by 2008 national collegiate champion Miranda Ranieri of Ontario, 11-5 11-4 13-11.
Amanda will take on 38th-ranked Misaki Kobayashi of Japan in today's final.
