Squash Alive And Well In Southern Nevada
from Bill Richards

- Regarding squash in Southern Nevada, the active location is at Sports Club - Green Valley, 2100 Olympic Ave., Henderson, Nevada.  Mrs. Andre Moore, General Manager.

They have three 20'X32' converted racquet ball courts. Unfortunately no doubles courts.

When the WDSA was formed and Narelle (Krizek) wanted her sister Tarsh (Natarsha McElhinny)  to play on the tour, I hit with Tarsh in a full racquet ball court with both a fuscia singles ball and a doubles ball.

In the northern area of Las Vegas, a new Club opened within the last year. It is part of the Lifetime Fitness Group, and Andre Maur arranged for an exhibition with two of the top WSA players (both Egyptian). It was well presented, and well attended. They have 4 regulation International courts, 21'X32'.

The main activity is at Green Valley, where Tarsh has done a great job. I am over in the before-noon time, and there can be anywhere from 6 to 15 on hand. Most playing round robin, or some taking lessons from Tarsh. A great bunch. Tarsh took the job when Amy Milanek moved back east.

As far as I know there are only two members of US Squash in this area. I am the only Jester, and no one knows what the Jesters are all about. And at 82 years, I am not in any position to hit with any of the gang.

I hope this clarifies the situation here.

Regards.
