Job Title: CAA Squash & Fitness Coordinator

The CAA Squash & Fitness Coordinator is a full-time, year-round position based in Boston, MA. The position is an opportunity
for a dynamic and passionate person to have a deep impact on the lives of urban youth in Boston, learn about the workings of
a growing non-profit, and gain valuable work experience. The specifics of the position are as follows:

Programming:
ˇ Work with SquashBusters’ Squash Professional and Squash Coordinators to help implement the squash program and
best practices for all teams and levels
ˇ Along with squash staff, plan, supervise, and direct intensive weekday afternoon and Saturday squash practices
throughout the school year
ˇ Recruit, train, and manage volunteer coaches in teaching of squash and how SquashBusters works with youth –
ensure a 4:1 ratio of youth to coaches
ˇ Assist in implementation and updating of fitness programming – ensuring it is integrated into squash and academics
ˇ Schedule and organize tournament play, private school matches, and league competitions
ˇ Assist with implementation of program evaluation as it relates to squash & fitness
ˇ Manage athletic equipment inventory, storage, maintenance, and replacement
ˇ Help build connections between students and college squash coaches
Program Team Responsibilities:
ˇ Collaborate and communicate with SquashBusters staff, families, and community partners
ˇ Recruit, coordinate, and implement summer camp program and broker external summer camp and employment
opportunities for students
ˇ Participate in weekday squash and homework tutoring sessions
ˇ Participate in community service projects and field trips
ˇ Assist in recruiting new students
ˇ Support the recruitment, orientation, and assignment of all SquashBusters volunteersˇ Drive students to and from their schools to practice as needed, and to and from matches, team trips, community
service projects, summer camps, etc.
Necessary Skills/Interests/Qualifications
ˇ Experience, comfort, and passion in working with disadvantaged and low-income youth
ˇ Awareness of factors impacting the lives of urban and youth
ˇ Valid driver’s license
ˇ
ˇ PREFERRED
ˇ Ability to play squash at an intermediate level
ˇ Spanish
Compensation and Benefits
ˇ All Americorps members receive a modest living stipend, and upon successful completion of service, receive an
education award. Additionally, candidates may be eligible for student loan forbearance.

About SquashBusters
SquashBusters is a 17 year-old sports-based youth development program located on the campus of Northeastern University in
Boston. SquashBusters combines the sport of squash with academic enrichment/homework tutoring, community service, school
counseling and placement, and summer opportunities to enrich and improve the lives of Boston’s urban youth. SquashBusters
has served more than 500 Boston youth since its 1996 launch.
The SquashBusters program has three major goals: to have all of our kids: 1. be accepted into, and graduate from college; 2.
lead a healthy lifestyle; and 3. develop into individuals with strong character.
SquashBusters currently serves 120 Boston middle & high school students and 34 Lawrence, MA middle school students, and
supports program graduates who have continued on to college. SquashBusters students practice at least three days a week
throughout the school year and participate in weekend practices, tournaments, and summer opportunities
