PST Matches To Be Streamed LIve Today; Say What You Will, McManus Puts On A Good Show
by Ted Gross, for DailySquashReport.com

April 28, 2012
- Joe McManus has taken plenty of heat - reportedly from US Squash and its attorneys, to the WSF to the PSA.

He has been hammered frequently and creatively on the SquashsiteUK forum.

We have taken some shots at him on DailySquashReport, and most recently The Squashist has blasted McManus.

But you know what? The man puts on a good show.

After watching much of yesterday's streaming of his "American Open", I was quite impressed with the feed, the level of play, the sportsmanship, the refereeing, McManus's smooth post-match on-court interviews--the whole shebang.

Even the no-let rule adaptation, which I think is ultimately flawed, was nicely showcased in that very few lets were called over the course of the eight first-round matches, possibly because the players know the outcome of a let-call is so unpredictable that they might as well play the ball.

McManus's public relations style is always going to rub some people the wrong way, and the PST's clashes with the other squash entities are unlikely to  be resolved.

But the man gives you a nice product, and he presents it with class.
