Pierrepont/Krizek Head Field For Crescent Capital LA Open By Rob Dinerman

-The final stop of the 2010-11 WDSA tour, the $ 13,000 Crescent Capital LA Open, gets under way this evening at the Jonathan Club in downtown Los Angeles, with Narelle Krizek and Suzie Pierrepont, fresh off their exhilarating five-game victory late last month over Natalie Grainger and Amanda Sobhy in the final round of the Players Championship, leading the six-team field. They have been byed to the semifinals, where they will meet whichever team wins later today in the match between Marci Sier and Fernanda Rocha and their opponents, Natarsha McElhinny and Karen Jerome.
In the bottom half of the draw, Amy Milanek and her co-Philadelphia Dawn Gray, who came within a 15-14 fifth-game point of defeating eventual champs Steph Hewitt and Seanna Keating this past weekend in the semis of the World Doubles in Toronto, will face off against seven-time U. S. Hardball Singles champion Alicia McConnell and Dana Betts, with the winner to then play Sobhy and Latasha Khan on Saturday. The final is set for Sunday afternoon.
