Squash Canada Names Junior Women's Team For Brazil Pan Am's by Danny Da Costa

– Squash Canada today named its Junior Women’s Team for the upcoming
Pan American Junior Championships in Belo Horizonte, Brazil from June
17 – 23, 2013. The team is comprised of:
Hollie Naughton, 18, from
Oakville, Ontario, plays out of Ontario Racquet Club in Mississauga.
Naughton is the reigning Canadian U19 Champion, and is also currently
ranked #1 in Canada in the U19 division. At the recently
completed Canadian Squash Championships, Naughton finished in 4th place
in the Open Division. Naughton has represented Canada at the Pan
American Championships in 2010 and at the 2011 Jr. Women’s World Team
Championships; she is vying for a spot on the 2013 Canadian Jr. World’s
Team.
Chloe Chemtob, 15, from
Montreal, Quebec (residing in Orlando Florida) plays out of Club
Sportif MAA in Montreal. Chemtob finished 2nd at the 2013
Canadian Jr. Squash Championships and is ranked #2 in the U17 Canadian
Rankings. Chemtob qualified for the 2013 Jr. Women’s Canadian
Team, which will be participating at the 2013 Jr. Women’s World Team
Championships in Wroclaw, Poland from July 16 – 27, 2013.
Jillian Baker, 18, from Aurora,
Ontario plays out of the National Squash Academy in
Toronto. Baker is currently ranked 7th in the U19 Canadian
Rankings and has participated at the 2011 Canada Games in Halifax.
Evelyn Moorhouse, 18, from
Calgary, Alberta plays out of the Calgary Winter Club in Calgary.
Moorhouse is ranked 9th in Canada in the U19 Canadian Rankings and also
participated at the 2011 Canada Games in Halifax.
The Canadian Women will be led by Squash Canada Women’s National Coach Melanie Jans
of Georgetown Ontario. The Men’s Team, which was announced last
week, will be comprised of: Calvin Wren, Michael Thompson, Jarryd
Osborn & Devin Hinchey. Jr. Men’s National Coach Jonathan
Hill of Calgary will lead the Jr. Men in Brazil.
