Shoukry Shocks Koukal In Resistencia PSA

20 May 2012 - Egypt's Andrew Wagih Shoukry upset top seed Jan Koukal in the final of the Tour de las Americas Regatas Resistencia Open to win the PSA World Tour Challenger 10 squash event at Club Regatas Resistencia in Resistencia, Argentina.

The 21-year-old from Cairo took the opening game, but Czech number one Koukal battled back to draw level.

"The third was a pretty even game, similar to the one before, but this time won by the Egyptian," said tournament spokesman Ramiro Maldonado. "Once in the fourth, Shoukry achieved to put himself together again, hitting a good combination of winners and some precise cross court drives, taking out from Koukal the possibility to attack, leading him again to win the game and the match."

Shoukry's 11-3, 11-13, 11-9, 11-7 victory in 65 minutes marks the Egyptian's fifth PSA Tour title - but his first of the year.
