Butt Wins Pakistan Circuit Prize In Lahore

-Yasir Butt brought the giant-killing run of Mohammad Shahnawaz to an end in the final of the 1st Prime Minister FMC International Pakistan Circuit No2 to win the PSA World Tour Challenger 10 title at the PSA Squash Complex in Lahore, Pakistan.

Shahnawaz, a 23-year-old from Lahore, was making his return to the PSA Tour after a three-year layoff - and reached the final after beating the third seed and top seed Farhan Mehboob.

But it was a match too far for the world No 325 in his first Tour final.

Fourth seed Butt, also from Lahore, made his breakthrough in the semi-finals where he ousted experience compatriot Mansoor Zaman, a former world No11.

And the 22-year-old world No 133 continued his winning ways by despatching Shahnawaz 11-9, 11-8, 11-3 in 34 minutes to win the first PSA Tour title of his career in his eighth final appearance.

Butt received his trophy from Pakistan squash legend Jansher Khan, the record eight-time world champion who was attending the event in his capacity of Advisor to the President of the Pakistan Squash Federation.
