Job Opening: Head Pro, Buffalo

The Buffalo Tennis and Squash Club, (T&S), Buffalo, NY is seeking a Head Squash Professional to enthusiastically work with its squash section. The T&S – a 96 year old stalwart in squash and tennis history – serves its 200 family members with 3 singles courts, 2 doubles and 2 indoor and 1 outdoor tennis courts. The club is run by its members with a Board of Directors. The individual joining the T&S staff will be responsible for the expansion of its successful Squash program with focus on taking our current junior program to the next level including periodic weekend travel for junior tournaments.
The position will encompass some logistical and administrative duties, but will essentially focus on teaching duties, for various levels of players. Teaching duties will include working with adult and junior groups and teaching private lessons; assisting in the running of tournaments and house leagues with the goal to increase participation within the Squash program at all levels.
We hope that our new pro will be in the position by September 1 or earlier. Resumes can be sent now up to June 15th.
Qualifications:
· Certification preferred
· 1-2 years prior squash club and programming experience required
· Strong teaching ability with all levels of Squash players
· Excellent communication and organizational skills
· People skills a must - Outstanding member service skills
· Demonstrate knowledge on how to grow a squash program
· High level of energy and enthusiasm
· Computer skills and Tennis experience a plus
· Lawfully authorized to work in the U.S.
Responsibilities
· Grow squash participation for both juniors and adults – singles and doubles
· Junior program development
· Adult Program development
· Group and private lessons for members
· Organize tournaments, junior programs, adult leagues, and social events
· Plan and run 2 annual squash tournaments (Junior Silver and T&S Invitational Doubles – the oldest doubles tournament in North America)
· Expand and manage Pro Shop – both tennis and squash members
Compensation
· Commensurate with experience
· Pro shop revenue
