Job Opening: Part-Time Head Coach, Northeastern University,
Boston Massachusetts
June 23, 2011
From Men's Captain John Ghublikian ('12):
This position pertains to both the Men's and Women's team. We are
looking for a head coach that is available most week evening for
practices (6:30-8:30PM) as well as match days on weekends. Our
Northeastern team is a "hybrid" in that the school funds a base salary,
and then based upon the coaching performance, each President from the
Men's and Women's team can give up to a matching bonus at the end of
the season from the personal team accounts. Any candidate is welcome to
negotiate the flexibility of their schedule as our practice schedule
allows for a full-time day job. We require a minimum of 2 years
coaching experience, and/or a former college squash player or
equivalent experience. Last year's Co-Captain and #1 player, Pedro
Souza, will be our assistant coach and will work hand in hand on
planning and executing practices and matches with the head coach.
The Men's team finished 29th this past year, nearly upsetting Hobart
the #1 seed in the D bracket 4-5 in the first round of nationals, and
hopes to break the top 25 this coming year.
The Women's team finished 32nd this past year, but battled injuries all
season. They hope to also break the top 25 with a new healthy squad.
