Nimick's San Francisco Netsuite Open Reportedly Set For September With Ashour & Gaultier Confirmed from DailySquashReport.com June 23, 2013
- Tournament of Champions promoter John Nimick is reportedly on track
to hold the Netsuite Open in San Francisco the week of September 24th
through October 1st.
Ramy Ashour and Greg Gaultier, the world numbers one and two, are reportedly committed to the event.
This will mark the third successive hosting of the tournament. In 2011
the event was held at Stanford University. Last fall it was staged on
an outdoor court on the San Francisco waterfront, a few blocks from
AT&T Park where the Giants baseball team was competing in the
playoffs and World Series.
Preliminary rounds will be held at the San Francisco Bay Club, under the direction of Head Pro Kim Clearkin.
Last year's Netsuite Open was a sixteen draw with a sixteen qualifying
and attracted several PSA top ten players. The event was won by
Gaultier over Nick Matthew.
