Eulogy For Ronald Fauvel...
from Nicol David

June 3, 2017

Love was expressed wholeheartedly wherever he went and to whoever he met, when it came to Ronald Fauvel.

He gave himself to everybody, especially to his family, his loving wife Sandra and his 2 boys, Antoni and Giovanni, the lights of his life whom he treasured so dearly.

Ronald’s passion for his work went beyond our comprehension. He made sure that whoever he worked with was in his rightful care and his commitment was 100% and beyond in everything he did.

His memory was amazing - he remembered each and every person he had treated. His assurance was that the only way to be treated by him was to allow oneself to heal with time and to trust him completely.

I trusted him the moment I started working with him 20 years ago when I was only 14 years old. He cared for me immediately, demonstrating his genuine loving heart.

He saw I had something very special physically; he constantly emphasized and reminded me that I would really have to look after my body well. That, is the number one priority to be successful in sport. Ronald identified that that I had a unique physique made to win and he promised to assist me in any way so that I could continue in this chosen passion of mine for a very long time.

This was just the beginning of what would become a dream journey for both of us.

Our working relationship was undoubtedly in sync always. He never skipped a beat. He was brilliant at his work. He was one of the best in the world at what he did to ensure my body was in top shape.

Ronald was a Structural Integrator and he always wanted to make that clear that this was his profession, his calling. People could not quite understand his profession because there is no one else in the world that does what he did. He was simply a genius with the physical anatomy and bio-mechanics of the body. My physical condition has been a testament to the outstanding job he did with me. Ronald has given that back to Malaysian sport in the highest order with all our top elite athletes in the country with their performances to date.

Ronald kept his promise made to me from day one.

Ronald was our loving teddy bear who was ready to give everyone or anyone a big hug whoever they may be. His laughter was so contagious that we just had to laugh out loud with him. He had his quirkiness that we loved about him that only he could have pull it off…and for that, we just loved him even more. He was always there to lend a helping hand for whoever that was in need because he had a heart of gold that could never leave anyone astray.

The way that he loved his family was like nothing I had seen before. He devoted his heart and soul to love them unconditionally with every ounce of joy, sweat and tears in all that he did for them. Ronald was a true giver and he brought such a gorgeous family together in the way he only knew best...pure love.

He loved music and dancing! So to all who knew him and has heard his playlist while working with him, will always remember his happiness when he started singing to his songs he played…or danced to the beats, clapping away or pounding the table like a bongo drum.

Ronald’s love for life, his abundant love for all will continue to live on with us and in us, and we will truly miss you, Ronald.
Thank you Ronald for all the love you gave me, it was unconditional and giving.

Thank you Ronald for always having my back as I walked forward.

Thank you Ronald for being there with me through my highs and my lows as I could not have done it on my own.

Thank you Ronald for taking me through great memorable victories which will forever be etched in my mind.

Thank you Ronald for keeping me ready to fight another day through my competitions and for saving me through recoveries.

But most of all, thank you Ronald for being you…for being the best friend and family to me.

It has truly been my honour and privilege to have been able to spend my entire squash career with you. Ronald, I am blessed to have been able to share this wonderful journey with you.

Your love and joy will continue to shine bright and live on with us always!

My heart goes out to Sandra, Antoni, Giovanni and his family.

Ronald, may your soul rest in peace.

You will always be in my heart.

With love,

Nicol
