Economy? US Tennis Boosts US Open Prize Money To All-Time Record High

July 15, 2011 - The United States Tennis Association has reportedly decided to increase the prize money for the August US Open to a record amount.
The singles champions at this year’s event will each receive a record $1.8 million.
The total tournament purse will be increased by more than $1 million for a grand total of $23.7 million, representing the most prize money ever laid out for a Grand Slam tournament.
