Brown Will Field Varsity Teams Next Season, Despite Rumors

July 19, 2011 - Brown University will continue to field men’s and women’s varsity squash teams for the 2011-12 season, the school has confirmed.
Brown had been rumored to be scaling back or eliminating squash as a varsity sport. One coach told DailySquashReport.com that Brown had been removed from her upcoming schedule.
However, Brown Athletic Director Michael Goldberger and head coach Stuart LeGassick have each confirmed that men’s and women’s squash will be full varsity sports next season.
“Yes. Absolutely,” said LeGassick.
