Canada’s Coach Jessica DiMauro Previews The Team Event from DailySquashReport.com
July 26, 2011
“Team
Canada has been seeded 8th going into the team event. With 16 teams,
(four pools of four), we are in a pool with number 1 seed, Egypt,
number 9 seed, New Zealand, 13/16 seed south Africa.
“After the individual tournament placings, the team line up has
been named as Danielle Letourneau, Michelle Gemmell, Hollie Naughton,
Abbey Foster.
“Our first round robin match is scheduled for today at 2pm versus South Africa.
“We have two matches scheduled for Wednesday. The first is at
11am and will be on the glass court against Egypt, so will be seen on
the live-streaming from the US squash website. The second match of the
day on Wednesday is potentially our biggest match in pool play, where
we face New Zealand to likely determine who comes second in our pool.
“After pool play finishes on Wednesday, the top two teams in each
pool move through to the quarter-finals in a quest to finish top 8. All
of the 16 positions will be played out.
“Canada looks forward to finishing in the top 8 and are hoping to improve upon our seeding.”
