25 July 2011- Pakistan's Farhan Zaman has claimed his first PSA World Tour squash title after winning the inaugural Milad Open in Iran.
Seeded two in the PSA Challenger 5 event at Golestan Squash Centre in
Gorgan, Zaman reached the final after straight games wins over
opponents from three different nations.
And it was a surprise player from a fourth different country that faced the 18-year-old from Peshawar in the final.
Unseeded Kuwaiti Ammar Al-Tamimi made his breakthrough in the
quarter-finals where he upset Pakistani Basem Makram, beating the top
seed 11-5, 11-2, 11-5 in just 12 minutes.
The 22-year-old from Kuwait went on to defeat third-seeded Iranian
Mohammad Reza Sadeghpour in the semi-finals to reach the first Tour
final of his career.
But there was no stopping Pakistani teenager Zaman - who battled for 44
minutes to overcome Al-Tamimi 15-13, 6-11, 11-5, 11-7 to become a Tour
