Assistant Squash Professional - Toronto Cricket, Skating & Curling Club

Overview:
The ideal candidate will be personable, outgoing, and professional in
demeanor. Strong coaching skills should combine with a passion to
introduce young people to the game of squash. Candidates must have
attained Level I Coaching Certification and be willing to upgrade but,
more importantly, the ability to generate creative junior program
content is essential. Our junior programs have about 80 participants
annually, ranging from young introductory levels to high performance
tournament players. Some coaching at junior tournaments will be
required. It is the responsibility of the Assistant Squash Professional
to oversee the annual Squash Ontario Junior Silver Tournament, as well
as the annual Club Winter Junior Tournament and Junior Club
Championships. Junior camps will be offered during spring and summer
holidays. The ability to work in a team environment is required to
assist organizing committees for house-leagues as well as major
tournaments and events. Familiarity with both Word and Excel documents
will be required for administrative duties. Most importantly, the ideal
candidate will demonstrate and maintain a sense for the
‘fun-factor’ when developing creative programming,
attending social events and relating with members during their
recreation time.
Compensation:

Responsibilities:
· Junior program (Saturday and After-School)
· Organizing tournaments (Junior and Adult, Singles and Doubles)
· Junior tournament travel
· T&D/OSDL League (includes playing for TCSCC, expenses covered)
· House leagues (assist organizing committees)
· Lessons & clinics (for juniors and adults)
· Squash camps (spring break, summer)
Candidates must have:
· Squash Coaching Certification
· Junior coaching experience at all levels (young beginners to tournament players)
· Administrative skills (Excel & Word)
· Interpersonal skills
· Creativity for program content
