- The US mens’ team took care of business yesterday against an overmatched Ukraine squad without dropping a game. Today they face a stiffer challenge from Switzerland in round two of pool play.

In the showcase #1 match, Julian Illingworth will square off against 21-year-old Swiss star Nicolas Mueller. Illingworth is ranked #31 in the world by the PSA, while Mueller is ranked just behind him at #32.

The two players met earlier this month in the Round of 32 of the Australian Open in Canberra. The American won in four tightly contested games.

Coach Assaiante Files This Report from Paderborn, Germany:

We played well today and it was great to see Todd (Harrity) cut his teeth in this level match!

Italy beat the Swiss in a tight match and the courts are extremely hot!

Couple this with the ball biting the ASB walls, and it  makes for challenging adjustments.

Julian will have a very tough rematch from a week ago vs Mueller, and the rest of the matches could prove to be equally challenging!

We will decide on the lineup tomorrow after our practice at 11am.

We are very excited to put on USA uniforms and give it our all.
