Disappointing Ending For Both Teams,
As Canada Beats Mexico For 15th Place from DailySquashReport.com
August 28, 2011-
In a playoff neither team wanted, Canada defeated Mexico yesterday two
matches to one to claim 15th place at the world men’s teams in
Germany. Mexico finishes 16th.
Shahier Razik, who has been plagued by hamstring trouble throughout the
event, finished strong by beating Mexico’s #1 Cesar Salazar in 25
minutes, and Shawn Delierre straight-setted Eric Galvez in the deciding
frame.
It was a disappointing ending for the two North American countries however, as both
Canada and Mexico qualified into the 16-team championship draw and were
clearly hoping for a better final outcome.
The Canadians were seeded #7 in the world championships and Mexico came in seeded #10.
