Gaultier Stays #1, Top 20 Unchanged In August Men's Rankings
by Nathan Clarke

August 1, 2014 - The top 20 of the Professional Squash Association (PSA) World Rankings remain unchanged in August, as Frenchman Gregory Gaultier maintains his grasp on the World No.1 ranking for the fifth consecutive month.

Gaultier succeeded England's Commonwealth Games Gold medal winner Nick Matthew to the No.1 ranking in April, and Matthew continues to occupy the World No.2 berth behind the man who beat him to the Allam British Open title in May.

Commonwealth Games silver medalist James Willstrop occupies the World No.6 ranking, also for a fifth consecutive month, with Egyptian trio Mohamed Elshorbagy, Ramy Ashour and Amr Shabana separating the two men who contested the Commonwealth Games Final on Monday July 28.

Peter Barker, who claimed bronze at the Games to complete a clean-sweep for England, continues to hold the World No.8 position while Daryl Selby, who is partnering Willstrop in the doubles competition in Glasgow, is World No.10 for the ninth consecutive month.

Elsewhere in the world rankings, Egyptian Ali Farag, who claimed a remarkable victory during the CCI PSA Championship in Mumbai in July by beating four seeds on his way to victory including tournament favourite and World No.16 Saurav Ghosal, moves up 104 places to break into the top 100 for the first time since 2011 and occupy the World No.88 position.

Frenchman Auguste Dussourd is the highest riser in the August rankings climbing 106 places to a career-high World No.243.
