Latasha Khan , Top Seed Pallikal Into Orange County Semis

September 10, 2011 - American Latasha Khan of Seattle cruised into the semifinals of the $9,000 WISPA Orange County Open at the SportsClub/LA in Irvine last night, with a dominating 25-minute win over sixth-seed Milou Van Der Heijden of the Netherlands.

The second-seeded Khan is joined in today’s semis by Egyptian qualifier Yathreb Adel, who straight-setted Canada’s Sephanie Edmison; Misaki Kobayashi of Japan who four-gamed Italian Manuela Manetta; and by top seed Dipika Pallikal of India who beat South African Siyoli Waters in a lengthy three-gamer.

Latasha last month, at age 38, became the second oldest player to claim a WISPA tour title when she won the $8K Hamptons Open on Long Island, New York. It was the seventh WISPA title of her career.
