September 19, 2011 - Drexel University Coach John White and Australian Anthony Ricketts have emerged as surprise finalists in the 9-Tel St. George’s Hill Legends Of Squash in Surrey, UK.

White and Ricketts square off tonight for the event championship, while Peter Nicol and Nick Taylor play for third place.

In yesterday’s final round-robin action, it was Taylor over Tim Garner, Ricketts over Steve Meads, White over Jonathon Power and Nicol defeating Simon Parke but coming up short of the final in the overall standings.

Favorites Nicol and Power have struggled in this event, as Nicol fell in his first round to the newly-unretired Ricketts and Power endured an elbow injury.

Both players likely are still recovering from their efforts in last Wednesday night’s “Showdown” exhibition in Boston, where Power and Nicol expended immense energy attempting to stay with respective opponents Nick Matthew and Ramy Ashour, the current top-two players in the world.
