Latasha bt Antonella 11-8,11-8,11-2 (24 mins)
Almost a major injury in the 2nd game when Antonella thought Latasha would play the ball in one direction only to be deceived by quick racquet work. In trying to change her direction Antonella lost her footing and twisted her knee. After a quick injury time out Antonella returned to the court to finish the game. In the 3rd the injury combined with 2-0 deficit was too much as Antonella really struggled to pick up the short balls allowing Latasha to run out a 3-0 win
Nicolette be Vicky 11-7,11-8,8-10,11-8 (75 mins)
This was always going to be a battle, the girls had just played each other last week where Nicollette took the victory so Vicky was definitely out for revenge. Both girls are coming back from injury which has kept them off the courts for most of the year
In all the games Nicollet got off to great starts, 5-0, 5-0, 4-0 but everytime Vicky though back. In the second game Nicollete got a 5-0 lead only to see her lead clawed back to 7-7 but Nicollet athletism and determination came into play when she literal;ly threw herself accross the court and int o the side wall to pick up a shot, get up, chase the lenght and another 5 shotsto win the point on a no let decision. Another let call and 15 shots later Nicollette took the second 11-8.
Longest rally of the match with over 50 shots this time Vicky winning to make the score 1-4 and claw her way back to take the game 11-8
Still fighting but Nicollette was not going to lose the 4th and took t 11-8 after 75 mins play and a repeat of last weeks match
Amanda bt Mennat 13-11,6-11,4-11,11-6,11-6 (62 mins)
Another long match with newcomer Mennat Nasser trying to create an upset just like last week. The game was going to be a shootout with both players going for their shots
1st game Mennat pulls back to 10-10 has game ball but Amanda saved the point to take the game 13-11
Game 2 and 3 go to Mennat who is frustrating Amanda with her trickle boast and drops from the back of the court
4th game Amanda with Mennat missing her shots (frustration led to her hitting her head with her hand several times)
5th and last game Amanda has her confidence back but Mennat is not going down easily but finally Amanda's resilience pays off and she takes the game and match
Orla bt Alex 11-5, 11-4, 11-4 (26mins)
Last of the afternoon sessions. Orla went on with a mission after seeing the #5 seed go down and almost the #3 she was not going to let anyone stop her and took the match in straight games
Celia bt Birgit 6-11, 11-5, 13-11, 12-10 (39 mins)
Another seed #7 goes down, these girls covered a lot of ground moving the ball in every direction and all corners. Great retrieving by both players with Celia sneaking the win in 4
Maria bt Kristin 11-9,11-8, 8-11,11-9 (50 mins)
This match was about who could hit harder, both girls trying to out hit the other, lots of lets and loose balls
Kristin fights back to take the 3rd and as the girls got more tired they would go for the shots and then back to hard hitting. Maria taking it in 4
Thaisa bt Carrie 13-11,11-2,-11-8 (40 mins)
1st game was tight but Thaisa sneaked the game 12-10. Second went Thaisa 's way but Carrie thought back hard in the 3rd but not enough as Thaisa would be a straight game winner
Lauren bt Ivonne 11-7, 11-6, 11-4 (25 mins)
Last match if the evening and Lauren like Orla was in no mood to be on court for long while Ivonne did her best to scupper the plans but Lauren was having none of it and won 3-0
