World #16 Cameron Pilley Checks In With DailySquashReport.com
September 28, 2011 Cameron Pilley Of Australia shared these first impressions from the US Open in Philadelphia:
I finally made
it to good old America today, and the first time I've been to Philly.
After getting roasted with questions by customs and immigration as to
why I am here, and after me explaining to them what squash is, I dumped
my bags at the Crowne Plaza and headed straight to the golf course. I
teamed up with Shabana and we set out for a quick 18 holes at Walnut
Lane Golf Course. Not a bad little course. Didn't manage to reach my
life long goal of a hole in one though. Disappointing.
I was planning on getting over to Drexel to watch some matches and
hopefully see the Great White that is John White in action against
Sourav. Golf got in the way so that didn't eventuate but it would have
been nice to see Whitey smack some balls around the court. The man can
play!
As for my preparation, I'll be hitting with my regular tour practice
partner Bozza, tomorrow lunchtime. I'm going to try and surprise him
tomorrow with a new and exciting drill to bring to our session. No idea
what it'll be yet. I'll sleep on it. I'm looking forward to the US Open
kicking off on Friday and I know all the players can't wait to get
stuck in!
