Last season saw a further expansion of interest in Hardball Singles play from new as well as long dormant hardballers, the hardball doubles communities and PSA professionals.

We saw increased participation on the traditional 18.5 foot wide hardball courts, especially at the US Squash Hardball National Championships in NYC, with a large Open Draw won by Preston Quick, our US Squash Hardball representative over a field of impressive PSA and ISDA professionals, fueled by the prize money we offered from the Hardball Singles Squash Restricted fund..

There was also much increased play and experimentation of hardball singles play on the wider, 21 foot “international” courts, with the green, Austral ball.

The Atlantic Coast tournament coming up on the 19th of October will be played on wide courts with the Austral ball.

Anyone wanting/needing an Austral ball to play or experiment with can get one by contacting Tefft Smith at 202 879 5212 or tsmith@kirkland.com.

We want to build upon our growing momentum and see further expansion of hardball singles play, BUT – as always -- we need (and ask/plead for) your FINANCIAL help!!!!

To further fund the National Championships and support other initiatives to increase hardball singles play, we need to replenish the US Hardball Singles Restricted Fund.

PLEASE make a – tax deductible, charitable – contribution to US Squash, RESTRICTED to the Hardball Singles Fund, using the following form or, however, works BEST for you.
