Women's Final
Nicol David v Raneem El Weleily
The world #1 hasn't looked entirely comfortable on the Drexel stadium
court, going to back to last year's upset at the hands of Kasey Brown.
Nicol righted the ship just in time in the fifth yesterday, with some
help from a tiring Joelle King. David has had career long ownage of El
Weleily--until last month's Malaysian Open where Raneem turned the
tables on Nicol's home turf with an 11-2 in the fourth close-out in the
championship match. On her best day El Weleily has more game than
David, but you never know what you are going to get from Raneem. El Weleily 3-2
Men's Final
Ramy Ashour v Gregory Gaultier
After a less-than-dominant quarterfinal struggle against Peter Barker,
Ashour appeared to find the range in the third and fourth games
yesterday against Matthew. Gaultier is the fresher player - he got off
the court in 53 minutes last night with world #1 Willstrop, while
Ashour went 74 minutes with Matthew and 75 with Barker in a 24-hour
period. Ramy has dominated Greg in head-to-heads, so some doubt could
creep in. But Gaultier's game is right where he wants it, and the title
can be his. Gaultier 3-2
