McArthur/Stout Upset Quick/Jenson In $20K SDA St, Louis, Mudge/Gould Advance

October 27, 2012 - Qualifiers Greg McArthur and James Stout stunned second-seeds Matt Jenson and Preston Quick 15-11 in the fifth last night, as first round play opened up at the $20,000 SDA St. Louis Open at the Racquet Club of St. Louis in Missouri.
Top-seeds Damien Mudge/Ben Gould advanced in single figures over Chris Walker/Mark Chaloner, third seeds Paul Price/Clive Leach straight-setted qualifiers Jacques Swanepoel/Shaun Johnstone, and in a mild upset Manek Mathur/Victor Berg took care of Jonny Smith/Greg Park in four.
McArthur/Stout had come through a tricky qualifier earlier in the day, 15-10 in the fourth over Dan Roberts and Graham Bassett.
In the second qualifier, Swanepoel/Johnstone beat Mike Puertas and Iago Cornes in three.
Both the semis and finals take place today.
