$20,000 St. Louis Doubles Won By Mudge/Gould from DailySquashReport.com

- The world #1 doubles team of Damien Mudge and Ben Gould survived a
roller coaster five-game semi and then took care of business in a
straight-game final a few hours later to capture the $20,000 SDA St.
Louis Open at the Racquet Club of St. Louis in Missouri.
Mudge and Gould have now won the first two events -- the early-October
Maryland Open being the other -- of the re-engineered North American
hardball doubles tour, now known as the SDA Pro Tour.
In yesterday's St. Louis first semi, Mudge/Gould got into a
back-and-forth shotmaking battle with Manek Mathur and Victor Berg, and
none of the five games was close.
In the other semi, Paul Price and Clive Leach needed the full five to
subdue upstart qualifiers Greg McArthur and James Stout, 15-12 in the
fifth.
In the final, Mudge/Gould cruised to a two game lead on Price/Leach and held on for a 15-14 third game and the title.
Next up for the SDA tour is the Big Apple Open, November 9-11, at the New York Athletic Club in Manhattan.
