Sculptor A. Thomas Schomberg
In 1986 (35 years ago), squash players from the Detroit Athletic Club,
(Steve Horn and George Haggerty), commissioned the well-known sculptor
A. Thomas Schomberg (creator of the ten-foot Rocky statue displayed at
the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Games) to create a squash sculpture.
Only 24 of these quarter-life-size sculptures were ever produced!
These may just be the only ones of their kind ever created for squash...in the world!
