- Team Canada departed Nimes, France, yesterday following an
up-and-down week of play and a 12th place finish at the 2012 Women's
World Teams.
A young US squad finished 13th.
In final backdraw playdowns, South Africa beat the Canadians 2-0, while the US handled the Czech Republic 2-0.
North American neighbor Mexico was beaten out by Wales and wound up 16th.
The next edition of the bi-annual women's team championships will be held in Canada in December 2014.
